Do you think "getting sun" can be a cure for acne?

I used to have acne when I stayed home all day and never went outside. I have had it for 3-4 years. 2 months ago I started spending more time outside and started getting a tan. Not only did it hide it a little, but it has almost got rid of it. And it also got me thinking that you never really see anyone with a nice tan have acne. You do on occastion but very rarily. What do you think?|||the sun dries up the face and can reduce acne outbreaks. every summer my face looks better than it did in the winter/early spring. The only problem is, the sun can also really damage your skin... while you may only notice the pimples disappearing at this moment, you may later see how they have left brown/red scarring, which is made worse from sun exposure. discoloration is also a problem caused by too much sun exposure.

if you want to use the sun as an aid in getting rid of your acne, i suggest going outside for no longer than one or two hours a day, and not at the peak heat times (from like 1-4 depending on where you live). you should wear an excellent, not commedagenic sunscreen that will block the more harmul UV rays.

try to do other stuff while outside rather than just laying out in the sun for the sole purpose of getting a tan/clearing acne. go swimming a lot this summer as well, because chlorine helps clear acne too!!! (I used to be on swim team and it always helped).

good luck!!!!!!
