My fiance had really bad acne as a teen, and the only way he was able to keep in in check was via prescription acne medicine.
One tip, though: do your research, both about dermatologists and the meds they put you on. They made him take too much of his medicine (a really high powered one--the name escapes me) for over a year, and we%26#039;re afraid he may be unable to produce children now. He didn%26#039;t even know it was the wrong dosage until years later.
