Why would people rather spend all their money in buying products like proactiv that can just control acne and make them have to buy those products almost forever, if they can just use accutane or roaccutane for 6 months and solve the problem!?|||the problem are the very very severe adverse side effects to it. I was supposed to be put on it about a year ago, but found that apo-tetra tetracycline worked well on my face, so decided against it. It is known to cause a major decrease in bone density causing them to break easier (especially if you take vitamin A....you should NOT be taking any vitamin A while on Accutane), major depression, severe birth defects, IBS, etc.
I got a HUGE package from my dermatologist explaining everything about Accutane (I even got a little booklet that was put together by the company...Roche Canada) and waivers galore to sign as I did not want to make a rushed decision and sign right away. I wanted to go over the information and think about it. THANK GOD I did not have to take it because I have heard some horror stories and the side effects seem to majorly outweigh the positives!
You also MUST go in regularly for blood tests to make sure that it is not affecting your blood in any way as it is known to do so. A VERY close eye must be kept on you at all times when you are on the drug. You also must sign consent forms galore before using due to the serious side effects.|||because it has bad side effects
and its not like u can just go to a store and buy it
u have to go to a doctor or a dermatologist
and its suppose to be a last resort for ppl with severe acne that dosnt respond to any other treatment ( =|||it is because what the medican does to your body besides getting rid of acne. it lowers bone density, can cause depression, if the woman is expecting the child will be deformed, dry skin, back pain and much more. its an insane drug and not to be taken lightly.|||accutane and roaccutane are not over the counter. you have to have a prescription to use them. in order to get a prescription, you must see a specialist, and in most cases in order to see a specialist you must first see your family doctor. so i would assume in most cases it is a money issue. however i also know from personal experience, they have SEVERE side effects and not all people are mentally stable enough to take the medication. someone in my past took this to get rid of severe cystic acne, and was depressed and suicidal while on it.|||You have to sign an agreement to use two forms of birth control while on it because of birth defects and you have to submit to blood tests. It also can worsen depression, though not as extreme as most media outlets report.|||The stuff is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive and even with medical insurance, it doesn%26#039;t always cover. And it can cause severe depression.
